Cloud Wars – Google Cloud vs AWS

In the pricing competition between Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services (AWS), perhaps the largest battle of the on-going “Cloud War”, Google has recently announced a price reduction of up to 30% on its virtual machines and has lowered all of its Compute Engine pricing, enabling it to provide its service at a rate 40% less than its Cloud Server competition.

Open Source: The Future Looks Bright

Open-source software is no longer a new concept, though a big part of the current trend in technology that is still leading edge and will apparently continue to be for a while.

Based on results from the eighth annual Future of Open Source Survey, presented by Black Duck Software and North Bridge Venture Partners, the role of open-source is gaining greater impact on our daily lives. Increased strategic roles in enterprises, new development technology dependence as well as the growth of the developer pool, are significant findings of the survey.

The End of FrontPage


I just received a notice from my web host that the new release of cPanel will not include support for Microsoft FrontPage. I used the Microsoft Office development tool several years ago, as it was a step up from the WYSIWYG web-builder offered by GeoCities during my introduction into creating websites, however, I eventually abandoned FrontPage in lieu of native HTML coding roughly 6 years ago.
